Position Summary
The College of Western Idaho Library seeks a creative, self-motivated, customer-oriented Senior Library Assistant to participate in building and sustaining an innovative, student-focused library at a new and rapidly growing community college. This position plays an integral role in supporting the daily operations of the library with a focus on technical services. The successful candidate will coordinate with CWI librarians to perform cataloging (primarily copy cataloging), interlibrary loan, and processing activities. The position will participate in staffing the Information Desk to assist students and faculty with their information needs and will provide support in other areas as needed.

The position is based at CWI's Nampa Campus but may include substantial activities at the Ada County Campus and other locations. Some evening and weekend hours may be required.

This is a full-time non-exempt position with a hourly hiring range of $14.42 to $17.69.

Essential Functions

· Perform or support cataloging (primarily copy cataloging) of new books and other physical materials
· Perform or support the fulfillment of internal and external interlibrary loan requests, including tracking, submitting, and fulfilling requests, and communicating effectively with patrons
· Provide high-quality reference and customer service assistance during set hours in person and via chat, email, and phone
· Participate in Library planning and decisionmaking
· Project management (such as instituting new software, systems, and procedures)
· Supervise student employees and/or staff
· Travel among various campus locations to provide services
· Additional duties as desired and assigned

Minimum Requirements
· Five or more years' library work experience or equivalent training
· Demonstrated excellent customer service orientation
· Effective communication skills
· Collaborative working style
· Associate's degree

Superior Candidates
· Academic library experience
· Reference experience
· Experience processing interlibrary loan requests using ILLiad or other interlibrary loan platforms
· Experience supervising staff or student employees
· Familiarity with OCLC Worldshare Management Services
· Knowledge of cataloging standards and processes
· Bachelor's degree
