Moody Bible Institute—Spokane seeks an innovative, collaborative, service-oriented Branch Librarian to plan, manage and operate the services of a small but growing branch library with a campus enrollment of 700, a growing collection of 9,000 resources and a support staff of one library technician and student workers. The successful candidate will be a clear communicator, technologically savvy, and committed to implementing best library practice.  Under the supervision of the Spokane Campus Dean and Chicago Director of Library Services, this position will oversee all operations of the Spokane Branch Library. We desire a minimum of three years professional academic library experience, demonstrated record as an independent self-starter with proven ability to work with a minimum of supervision, including successful delivery of public and technical services.

Duties and Responsibilities
•    Responsible for the selection, training, supervision, evaluation and development of Library Technician and all library staff members
•    Responsible for the budget including cost effective management, utilization, planning and monitoring of all revenues and expenditures
•    Responsible for designated collection development activities including selection, de-selection, acquisition, evaluation and assessment of all resource formats in support of curriculum needs at the local Branch level
•    Responsible for providing customer service to students and faculty through MBI Library approved policy and procedures relating to information literacy and instruction, reference, research, serials, circulation, reserve as well as other non-traditional public services such as social media, chat, and web form, promoting the library as a resource to students and faculty as well as facilitating access to off-campus library services within the local Spokane area
•    Responsible for delivering quality customer service to students and faculty through preservation, facilitation, and promotion of communication with the Chicago Library and adherence to the Chicago Director of Library Service’s approved policy  
•    Responsible for cataloging with current MARC, AACR2, LCSH, FRBR & RDA guidelines in DDC classification system, making adjustments as needed to bibliographic data  in accordance with cataloging policies along with ability to learn editing and importing bibliographic data into various ILS platforms
•    Responsible for preparing information and statistical data concerning library use and needs, providing, reviewing and/or processing the data for reports, special studies or other purposes
•    Responsible for assisting in the development of short and long range planning to meet financial, accreditation and other service goals
•    Other duties as assigned
Professional Qualifications
•    MLS from an ALA accredited degree program as well as accredited graduate degree in Bible or Theology, with a M. Div. preferred
•    Minimum of three years professional academic  library experience, with delivery of both public and technical services preferred
•    Working knowledge of AACR2, LCSH, MARC21, FRBR, RDA and DDC along with original and/or copy cataloging including knowledge of current automated Technical Service practices and systems, new technologies and trends along with emerging cataloging standards
•    Successful record as independent self-starter with proven ability to work with a minimum of supervision
•    Successful record of delivering innovative quality service to students and faculty including current technological experience, proven ability to access and deliver information from library databases and library service vendors as well as developing evangelical theological collection

•    Ability to successfully communicate in multiplex organization
•    Passion for working with students with active participation in the campus and larger library profession encouraged and supported
