Director of Administrative Services

Reporting to the chief librarian, the director of administrative services provides leadership to the system’s Administrative Services division, comprised of approximately 90 FTE, which consists of finance and budget, interagency agreements, strategic analysis functions, and the Library’s operations and business departments. Operations include a capital improvement program, a facilities maintenance department that includes building maintenance, custodial and janitorial services, and the safety and security department. The director of administrative services has six direct reports: the library levy administrator; and managers of finance and operations analysis; the business office; capital planning and strategic initiatives; the capital improvement program; facilities and security services; and events services. A team of 3 administrative staff support the operations of the division. This position is responsible for administering the Library’s Rules of Conduct and provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act related to facilities access and public services. The position serves as a liaison with the City Attorney’s Office in matters related to these policies and the Library’s contractual and business operations.
