Digital Resources Librarian
University of Wyoming

Deadline: 'open until filled'

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Digital Resources Librarian will coordinate a broad range of digital activities and projects that combine traditional library activities with digital initiatives. Create, integrate, and ensure long-term access to digitized information services and resources that support the teaching, learning, and research missions of the University of Wyoming. Collaborate with the university community to develop policies and procedures for management of the University's digital intellectual output, and the digital conversion of library and archival collections. Work with various partners to build an Institutional Repository of scholarly digital materials. Function as the library authority for digital library issues and technologies, and coordinate with the appropriate library departments during digital project implementation. Maintain best practice documentation for all areas of digitization.
Develop and oversee grant applications to fund digital projects.  Pursue an active and ongoing program of professional development, scholarship, and service. Supervise one staff position and  non-benefitted student positions. Report to the Head of Library Systems.

REQUIRED: MLS from an ALA accredited institution; minimum five years professional experience;  demonstrated ability in the development and management of digital collections and knowledge of current digital library technologies, standards, and best practices; familiarity with current trends in the conversion of analog to digital resources, born-digital resources, and the long term management and preservation of digital objects; knowledge of current metadata schemes; experience with digital asset management systems; excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and presentation skills; strong leadership
skills, including creativity and initiative in planning and facilitating projects; experience collaborating with librarians and a variety of information technology professionals on complex projects; strong customer service orientation.

PREFERRED: experience in an academic library; experience in systems administration, analysis and/or management; experience in public service and/or user education; experience with grant writing and solicitation; experience with digital archival methodology and best practices.
