Content Specialist for Natural Resources

Manages a highly technical collection of natural resource information about Montana. The position offers generous travel and training opportunities. Duties:

•Responsible for ensuring that natural resource content meets patron needs and state mandated requirements.
•Develops natural resource information collection development policies.
•Works with the metadata librarian, Montana Natural Heritage staff, library systems and GIS analysts to improve access to natural resource information.
•Develops policies and procedures for licensing and maintaining electronic access to online databases and journals.
•Researches emerging content management systems in line with resource/budget limitations.
•Coordinates the development of program databases and user access systems; assess existing database content; identifies data access issues; develops indexes and conducts quality assurance testing.
•Works with the metadata librarian to establish geographic name authorities and ensure proper identification and cataloging of natural resource information.
