Part Time Librarian

Reports To: Director of Library & Research Services
Job Summary:
Provides research and reference services for the Firm’s attorneys, staff and clients, using a variety of resources and formats; provides training and support in research and library use techniques, including CALR; maintains and develops information resources on the Intranet and in the library collection.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides both quick reference and in-depth research services; searches legal, business, public records and practice-related databases; coordinates interlibrary loans; provides research for business development; performs automated cite-checking searches; prepares legislative histories; participates in development of Intranet resources and collection review; and develops bibliographies.
Provides training and assistance to attorneys and staff in the use of the library collection and both in-house and commercial databases; prepares training materials and performs orientations for new attorneys and staff.
Skills Sought:
Working knowledge of the U.S. legal system and related legal materials; working knowledge of federal and state legislative processes; computer searching ability in a variety of database systems, including Westlaw, LexisNexis, CourtLink, CourtTrax, PACER, OCLC, HeinOnline, Accurint and Inmagic; experience with other computer applications; ability to develop training classes and to teach groups and individuals; excellent oral and written communications skills; the flexibility to work both independently and in coordination with other library staff members; strong customer service orientation; skill in handling a diverse and demanding workload.
Education and Experience Required: ALA accredited M.L.S. Experience in a law library preferred.
