Instruction and Reference Librarian - Part-Time
Mt. Hood Community College

The Library Resource Center at Mt. Hood Community College is taking applications for a part-time Librarian - Instruction & Reference. This librarian develops and teaches subject-specific library instruction classes, provides reference services, and collaborates with faculty librarians and other library staff on special projects. This position begins with the start of Fall term classes on September 22, 2008. The work is scheduled as follows for the 2008-2009 academic year:
* Fall term: 28 hrs/wk, Monday through Thursday, 11am to 7pm (late September to early December 2008)
* Winter term: 14 hrs/wk, Monday and Tuesday, 11am to 7pm (early January to mid March 2009)
* Spring term: 14 hrs/ wk, Monday and Tuesday, 11am to 7pm (late March to early June 2009)
(No work during finals weeks and during college breaks between terms.)

Minimum Qualifications:
Please note: You must meet all of the stated minimum and additional qualifications to be considered for this position.
* ALA accredited master's degree in Library Science
* Experience teaching in an academic setting
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem solving skills
* Ability to work effectively with diverse faculty, students and staff
Additional Requirements:
* Experience teaching information literacy in an academic library
* Experience providing library reference services
* Experience in collection development
