Public Services Specialist Deadline: 26 March CITY OF WALLA WALLA WASHINGTON PUBLIC LIBRARY Opening Date: Monday, March 1, 2010 BASIC FUNCTION: Under the direction of the Director-Library Services, perform professional librarian duties; maintain, evaluate, select, and order print and non-print materials for adult fiction of the City's Public Library collection; plan organize and schedule reference; assist and instruct patrons in reference questions and library techniques. Plan, organize and schedule Young People’s programs and functions and participate in public services of the Adult and Young People’s services section of the Library. Public Services Specialist will provide programming and public services to all ages but be responsible for purchasing only within assigned areas of the collection. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Any combination equivalent to: Bachelor’s degree is desirable in elementary education, early childhood development, liberal arts field and two years responsible professional experience in libraries. Must be computer literate and possess strong customer service skills. Must possess a driver’s license. The ability to speak Spanish is preferred.
