Director of Library Services Pacifica Graduate Institute is a privately accredited graduate school located near the coastal community of Santa Barbara, CA. Pacifica offers masters and doctoral degrees in psychology, mythological studies, and humanities and is currently seeking a Director of Library Services.

Responsibilities: The Director of Library Services directs, manages, and supervises all facets of Pacifica’s Library Services including; propose and manage budgets; develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient systems and resource usage; manage multiple contracts with vendors and consultants; collaborate with IT department to offer students superior technological resources and delivery systems, and provide the future vision for library services.; continue with consortium or about high-tech focus and experiments with social marketing. Supervise Library staff including; recruitment, management, and development as well as evaluations, recommendation for annual salary increases, and recommendations for hire and discharge; monitor all departmental staff for policy compliance; maximize teambuilding approach to management.; collaborate with all institutional departments for continuous library service offerings; troubleshoot all aspects of department; conceptualize with all institutional departments regarding future needs; assign daily work and projects for the department; mediate/resolve intradepartmental conflicts; provide opportunities for growth among the library staff ; train staff as needed. Collaborate with Executive Management Council through the CAO regarding department; teach as assigned; foster and maintain relationships with outside professional groups; execute all other duties as assigned including committee work and special projects.

Qualifications: Candidate must possess a Masters in library science, and a minimum of 5-8 years of progressively responsible experience in the field, academic setting experience preferred. Student service experience in an academic setting, preferred. Required knowledge of Depth Psychology: familiarity with the works of authors in the field. Policy development experience, preferred.
