The Oregon College of Oriental Medicine is a non-profit educational institution that trains Master's and Doctoral students in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. OCOM's academic programs are among the most comprehensive in the country, providing students with a solid foundation in acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, therapeutic massage, and qi cultivation, as well as a focus on collaboration between Chinese medicine and Western biomedicine. We are seeking a dependable and flexible, half-time Lead Library Assistant to support access to the college library and provide additional assistance as directed by the College Librarian.
Areas of Responsibility:
The lead library assistant will oversee tasks associated with access services, including staffing the library circulation desk and processing new materials, as well as providing the Interlibrary Loan service and general reference assistance. We are seeking a lead library assistant who is comfortable taking the initiative on new projects. Successful candidates will be able to take the lead on digital projects, such as working with the Digital Repository and maintaining streaming video services.
Required Qualifications:
* Minimum of a bachelors degree from an accredited college or university is required.
* Applicants must meet at least one of the following requirements:
- Hold a masters degree in library or information management from an ALA-accredited institution;
- Be currently enrolled in a library graduate degree program;
- Have 2 or more years of prior experience working in an academic library.
Salary:
This is a half-time (20-hours/week) position that pays $13-15/hr based on education and experience. This position is eligible for benefits and will provide opportunities for professional development.
