Please take this as my nomination for both of these books.  I have read
both, even bought a personal copy of Thunder Cave.  The writing is
excellent, the story line is coherent, and the characters are well
developed. Besides that, the stories hold the reader's attention.  What
more do we want in terms of books that introduce kids to reading for
pleasure.
