BULLETIN #967-032 February 10,1997 LIBRARY SPECIALIST I - INTERLIBRARY LOAN(BORROWING) CLOSING DATE: March 4, 1997 The Evergreen State College will be closed February 17, 1997 for the President's Day holiday. SPECIAL NOTE: There is currently one permanent vacancy in the Library at Interlibrary Loan (Borrowing). SALARY RANGE: $2,078.00 per month with periodic increases to $2,634.00 for full time plus benefits. DESCRIPTION: Oversee the maintenance and development of the Interlibrary Loan Borrowing function of the library. Oversee and perform borrowing of requested materials including routing and rerouting ILL requests to lending libraries or other providers. Explain Interlibrary Loan Borrowing policies and procedures to patrons and staff. Plan, prepare and manage the Interlibrary Loan borrowing budget. Update Interlibrary Loan Borrowing procedures and services to remain current with library service policies and information technology changes. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school graduation or equivalent AND four years of applicable library technical experience including one year of experience in the area of specialization OR equivalent education/experience. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Demonstrated knowledge of Interlibrary Loan Borrowing procedures and processes. Demonstrated ability to anticipate and adjust policies, working procedures and processes to accommodate changes in technology or services. Understanding of sources of bibliographic information appropriate to the position. Demonstrated commitment to responsible library public service. Ability to do frequent, light lifting. Ability to work at computer for extended periods of time.
