[Thread Prev][Thread Next] Fw: Refilling HP Inkjet Printer Cartridges -Reply
I'd recommend most vigorously against doing so. First, it voids the warranty. I realize you may not care if they're out of warranty,.but the complications other inks can cause in non-warranty repairs are significant. Second, having refilled cartridges on several brands of inkjet printers over the last decade (including HPs of various flavors), I can tell you that no matter how you do it your savings will be minimal. You'll get more smearing and other problems on the output. No matter what kind of ink or needle you use you will have more mess with ink clotting, clogging, and general mess. Also, no matter how you refill them you'll have them leaking within a few refills and then you have a real mess. If you insist on doing it, be sure not to refill any given cart more then two or three times, as trouble increases exponentially after that. Yes, my wife is an HP employee. No, I'm not saying this because of that....I'm saying it because of ten years of experience with inkjet printers. Good luck. dan >>> <bc@rosenet.net> 03/17/97 06:21pm >>> We are considering refilling the printer cartridges used in the HP 520 and HP 540 Printers. We are seeking advice from others who are currently or in the past performed this process. Any suggestions or recommendations will be appreciated.
