Job Opening Announcement LIBRARIAN Temporary 40 Hour Week $2486-3105/mo The Fort Vancouver Regional Library is seeking an energetic and creative individual to fill a temporary position (June-October 1997) as an assistant Children's Librarian in the Vancouver Community Library. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with planning, organizing and performing activities in the provision of children's services in a busy, public service oriented library. Responsibilities and duties may include developing, planning and presenting children's library programs and providing prompt and effective reference, information and reader's advisory services to all patrons. Qualifications include knowledge of general principles and techniques of professional library work; ability to maintain confidentiality, establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work, work evenings and weekends, communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing. Requires an MLS from an ALA accredited university and the ability to obtain a Washington Librarian Certificate; experience working with children preferred. Must be able to pass the Washington State Criminal Records check. Position available June 1; open until filled.
