The Bush School Spring 1997 Librarian (part-time) The Bush School, an established, K-12 independent school has an opening for a part-time Librarian beginning fall 1997. In addition to excellent language skills and academic background, this position requires energy, flexibility, and a commitment to working with K-12 students, faculty and parent volunteers. The Bush School library consists of a part-time Head Librarian, two part-time Faculty Librarians, and a full-time Library Technician. The overall responsibility of a faculty librarian is to work at the Reference Desk, develop appropriate bibliographic instructional materials K-12, and to assist with collection development (including Internet resources) and cataloging in assigned areas. The Bush School library network consists of the Winnabago Circ/Cat system, a number of networked bibliographic and full-text databases and the Internet. Individual PCs run a variety of CD-ROM products, as well as Microsoft Office applications. Faculty librarians must be comfortable working and teaching in a fully networked environment, as well as in the traditional classroom. In addition to an understanding and appreciation of the nature of Bush School, this position requires strong interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, and a commitment to team work. An MLS degree from an ALA accredited school of Librarianship and/or Washington State Certification as a Librarian is required.
