Lloydminster Public Library seeks an outgoing, energetic, and service-orientated person to fill the position of Reference Librarian. Reporting to the Head Librarian, the Reference Librarian plans and coordinates the delivery of reference services to the citizens of Lloydminster and member libraries of the Northern Lights Library System. Duties include the supervision of two full-time staff and management of the adult materials budget of $55,000. Applicants must hold a Master of Library/Information Science from an ALA accredited program and should have three to five years experience in public libraries, ideally in a regional system. A valid driver's license and the willingness to travel to member libraries on a regular basis is required. Applicants with demonstrated experience in the areas of collection development, reference and information services, staff training and development and the creation and management of electronic resources are preferred. Lloydminster is a modern city of 20,000 located on the Alberta-Saskatchewan border 250 kilometres from Edmonton and Saskatoon. As the retail centre for a population of 83,000, Lloydminster has a full range of community amenities.
