After a donation is accepted by the appropriate Program Director, the required documentation and the acknowledge to the donor is completed. The coordinating of accessions procedures includes all responsibility for documenting the accession of donations to the three program areas; Library, Archival, and Image Collections, and the distribution of donated materials to the appropriate Society sections. The Accession Coordinator reports directly to the Director of Archival Collections, but will work with staff of many departments. Participation in relevant meetings, committees, and training is required. > >Specific Job Skills: This position requires knowledge of library and archives procedures. Knowledge of a variety of formats, books, serials, government documents, artifacts, film and photographic images. Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of organizational and communication skills. Familiarity with basic word processing programs and relational database concepts. > >Education and/or Experience: Associate Degree in Humanities, library technical services program, or equivalent training/experience required.
