The telephone version of PNLA Jobline has been laid to rest. The UW
Library School will no longer be entering job postings onto the answering
machine for voice dial access. It was a terrific service for many years,
probably used by most of the subscribers to this list but its time has
come (and gone).

The PNLA Board must keep operating costs at a minimum, and during its last
review found that during the last 2 years, both the number of people
calling Jobline and the number of jobs posted by employers there has
decreased significantly. There was an approximate 25% decrease in both
categories over the last year! Therefore, the Board voted not to renew
the contract, but to continue funding the listserv and website.

So, the pnla-l will continue to serve the Jobline function unabated!
Employers wanting to post jobs to pnla-l have 2 choices:

1) Post your jobs yourself. All you have to do is subscribe to pnla-l
which you've already done if you're reading this. To post to the list,
send your email job posting to pnla-l@wln.com. Please include the word
"job" in the Subject line so it will catch the eye of applicants. That's
it.

2) If you don't want to post your own jobs, you can send them to Pauline
Baughman who has been faithfully keying in and posting jobs to pnla-l sent
to her by the UW Library School jobline people. Her email address is
paulineb@uidaho.edu and her street address is: Pauline Baughman,
University of Idaho, Rayburn Street, Moscow, ID 83844. If you don't have
a posting to send her, at least send her a thankyou note as she been doing
this without compensation or very many thankyous for a couple of years
now. Here's the first one: Thank You Pauline!!!

If you do send Pauline a job posting, please be concise.

The UW Library School will send any postings that fall into its hands to
Pauline but hopefully everyone will get the message and stop sending them
to the School.
