Subject:  Job Opening- Boeing Technical Libraries, Web Librarian

There is an immediate opening for a web librarian at the Boeing
Technical Libraries in Renton, Washington.  Applicants are encouraged 
to respond in writing to the address below.  A brief description of the 
position follows.

Job Description:  

Initial duties will include redesigning, rewriting, and reorganizing the
navigational pages of the Technical Libraries' web site, and integrating
these pages  with other web projects such as the web-based library catalog
(TechLib Plus), the full-text publications repository, the real-time
newsfeed, and the company-wide intranet search engines.  Ongoing 
responsibilities will include web site maintenance and management,
assistance with cataloging Boeing internal web sites, and extension and 
maintenance of subject profiles used in web filtering and retrieval
tools.  Additional duties may include preparation of bibliographies and
research reports for library customers using print, web-based and online
resources.

Desired Qualifications:  

Masters in Library or Information Science.  Excellent organizational and
written communication skills:  background in html authoring and web site
design principles essential.  Experience with Unix and Windows operating 
systems and programs, especially web-related design and maintenance tools.  
Knowledge of classification theory, cataloging principles, and thesaurus 
construction.  Familiarity with commercial online databases and current
awareness systems.
