[Thread Prev][Thread Next] New ezine features librarians
A new electronic magazine based in Seattle, Washington, has come out with its first issue. The issue features several articles about librarians and the Internet, including 'The Librarian is Dead, Long Live the Librarian'. Check it out at: http://www.pretext.com/oct97/contents.htm Here is a review of the magazine, from the Internet Scout Report, Oct 31, 1997, vol. 4 #27: "This ezine, produced by Seattle Washington Internet content provider Pretext, Inc., concentrates on various aspects of the digital revolution. The first issue, Digital Libraries, features an interview with Brewster Kahle, inventor of wide area information servers (WAIS), and founder of the Internet Archive. Other articles discuss the possibilities of the Internet as a universal library, the ramifications of the digital revolution on public libraries, and the future of the librarian in the digital age. The next issue, due out in early November, is titled "The End of Privacy."
