Washington State Library has two permanent vacancies at
the Senior Library Information Specialist level, one located
in Purdy, WA, and one located in Clallam Bay, WA.

                 WASHINGTON STATE LIBRARY
          PRE-RECRUITMENT ANNOUNCEMENT
                                     for
           "Senior Library Information Specialist"
                                    
LOCATION: Washington Correction Center for Women
                     Branch  Library 
                                     and
                    Clallam Bay Correction Center


In coordination and cooperation with the Assistant
Director for Customer Services, the Department of
Corrections Gateways Group, and the Washington
Correction Center for Women (WCCW) Service Team, or
the Clallam Bay Correction Center (CBCC) Service Team,
is responsible for planning, implementing, supervising, and
evaluating the delivery of library and information services
to the staff and inmates at WCCW or CBCC.  Includes
responsibility for budgeting, collection development,
reference/information delivery, programming, and
supervision and coaching of library staff.  Acts as advocate
for Washington State Library (WSL) and for library
services to inmates. Assumes essential responsibilities of
branch assistant(s) in his/her absence.


                      QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications Required:
A Master's degree in library science from an American
Library Association accredited program and certification by
the Washington State Library Commission; or certification
by the Washington State Library Commission by
examination.
		
AND  three years of  experience as a professional librarian.


                     COMPENSATION/BENEFITS            
Salary: $32,556 - $41,652 per year, depending on
           qualifications.

of Personnel bulletin announcement will be published on
December 10, 1997. Qualified candidates responding to
