PNLA Quarterly, Vol. 62 No.3 Spring 1998

President's Message: Discussion Papers and the New PNLA

In this issue of the Quarterly you will find the next phase of the process of renewal of PNLA. The Discussion Papers prepared by board members laying out future roles and structures for the association are presented for your discussion and feedback.

Your board members have worked hard to develop viable roles for the association that are true to its regional mission. But this is only part of the process necessary to make it work. Your input to these proposals is essential.

  • Are there points with which you agree or disagree?
  • Are there roles or activities that should be added?
  • Do you need further clarification or explanation?
  • Most importantly, do these papers contain the elements of an association that you would support, work for and be an active member of, because that is what will be needed to make it a success.
The board will be meeting on April 25 - 26 to refine these papers into a definitive document which will provide a clear future for a new PNLA. This will be presented at the Annual Conference in Sun Valley, in August.

Please send your responses to the listserve or to me at gordon_ray@bc.sympatico.ca
