The Pacific Northwest Library Association (PNLA) is an organization of people who work in, with, and for libraries. PNLA provides opportunities in communication, education, and leadership that transcend political boundaries. PNLA will have the support of its community. PNLA will meet continuing education needs of the region. PNLA will develop stronger library networks and networking in the region.
The Pacific Northwest Library Association community is made up of over 200 library staff and like-minded individuals from four states and two provinces. PNLA provides a unique regional and multinational perspective to the issues that interest all library staff: intellectual freedom, literacy, continuing education, and library leadership.
We are the oldest regional library association in the United States and the only binational association in North America. Members come from Alaska, Alberta, British Columbia, Idaho, Montana, Washington and beyond. Since 1909, PNLA has provided a relaxed, friendly professional and social forum for librarians, library workers, and library supporters throughout the vast Pacific Northwest region.
